A Bit About Me
The UK has always has a bustling gaming community, yet I never realised just how expansive and intricate it was until I began my studies at Brighton. Gaming was always a passionate hobby of mine, yet I didn't truly start pursuing it as a career until my second year of study at university. From there, I started attending various game jams, developer meetups, and e-sport events held within my local area. The Arcade was established as a place to showcase all of my work, as an impromptu portfolio site, where I can share my interests and hone my skills as a gaming journalist. I enjoy open world RPG's, first/third person shooters, and am guilty of occasionally staying up all night when playing a good MMO.
Work Experience
February 4 - 16 2024
Carousel
March 18 -22 2024
The Spirits Business
To be continued...
For two weeks I worked with the arts director at Carousel in Brighton, a user-lead non-profit organisation that profiles artists with learning disabilities. During my time I spoke with various film makers, musicians and artists about their latest projects.
For one week i was fortunate to have an oppurtunity to work with The Spirits Business, a London based magazine covering distillers and the spirits industry. I wrote various articles based on press releases given to us, and attended a live cocktail competition to report on the results.
I've explored many avenues in the journalism space, but gaming is still my main interest. I eagerly anticipate the next opportunity to showcase the skills I have learned and really level up my game.
