One giant leap to success

Juno is a support hero that balances high mobility with healing

Juno is the latest hero to join Overwatch 2 and players are eager to test out her capabilities ahead of Season 12 on August 20, 2024. She will join the support class, bringing a wide variety of abilities that aid in both team repositioning and survivability.

How Juno will perform in the current meta remains uncertain, but the possibilities with her kit seem endless. Here are some heroes that when paired with Juno will take the team to new astronomical heights.

Lúcio

  • Support

  • High mobility

  • Dive comps

Lúcio is a reliable support hero that has consistently performed well in competitive and professional play. This is because Lúcio is one of the few heroes capable of providing speed boosts on a frequent basis.

Juno’s ability Hyper Ring provides a 50% speed boost. When combined with Lúcio’s Amp It Up and its 30% increase to movement speed, the pair can sustain a steady supply of high mobility for the team.

Kiriko

  • Support

  • High damage

  • Brawl comps

Kiriko has performed well as a support hero since her debut in Overwatch 2’s launch back in August 10, 2023. This is due to her high damage output and her ability to remove debuffs on allies.

Juno’s ultimate Orbital Ray provides a 35% damage boost for players within its radius. When combined with Kiriko’s Kitsune Rush, which increases weapon fire rate and reload speed by 50%, the rest of the team can unleash high amounts of damage.

The duo can quickly rotate across the map. Juno can use her Glide Boost to soar through the skies and relocate faster, while Kiriko can instantly teleport to allies with her swift step.

Winston

  • Tank

  • Rush

  • Dive comps

Winston has consistently performed as a strong tank in the face of constantly shifting metas. Winston can reach distances of up to 22 metres with his jump pack and disrupt team formations with his primal rage ultimate - which boosts his maximum health by an additional 700 points.

Juno's high manoeuvrability, with both Glide Boost and Hyper Ring, allows her to keep pace with Winston's highly aggressive playstyle. The end result is a team optimised for dive comps where rapidly rushing the enemy team is the main strategy.

Mauga

  • Tank

  • Survivability

  • Brawl comps

Mauga was a highly anticipated hero among fans, but he quickly became one of the most disliked due to his high stopping power requiring minimal setup.

His Berserker passive enables him to recover 10 health every time he deals critical damage. When Cardiac Overdrive is activated, he gains health from regular damage instead of just critical hits.

Mauga's potential peaks in brawl comps that specialise in overpowering the opposition in close quarter engagements. By utilizing Juno's Hyper Rings to increase his speed, Mauga is able to quickly close the gap and initiate damage with his chain-guns.

Cassidy

  • Damage

  • Positioning

  • Poke/brawl comps

Juno's kit is highly versatile and complements a variety of playstyles. Characters whose kits lack any sort of mobility can benefit the most when paired with her. This includes aforementioned tanks like Mauga, in addition to more stationary damage heroes.

Cassidy can quickly establish sightlines to take down targets with greater efficiency when paired with Juno. This combo works best in poke comps, where the teams strengths lie in maintaining damage from long distances or down narrow choke points.

Though Juno may struggle when it comes to long range engagements, her ability to increase movement speed means poke comps will always be able to effectively retreat or reposition.

Echo

  • Damage

  • Airborne mobility

  • Brawl comps

Echo boasts the two best traits of a damage hero. She has great mobility and can capitalise on windows of opportunity by dealing high amounts of damage in a moments notice.

Juno's Hyper Ring has more verticality in its effect in comparison other speed boosting abilities, which allows Echo to more effectively dive onto targets and secure eliminations.

Juno's primary fire is more forgiving than others when it comes to aim based healing, particularly for airborne heroes such as D.VA and Pharah. Players can also rely on her ability Pulsar Torpedoes, which automatically lock onto allies before firing healing projectiles.
